Mini Series | Observational Documentary | 2026
You don’t even have to like football to enjoy watching this observational documentary series that is getting rave reviews from a growing audience. Commissioned to premiere on YouTube this 4-part film captures the matchday experiences of young Alex Nield who does not let being in a wheelchair limited his insatiable desire for the game he loves.
“When Alex Nield was born, his parents were told he would never walk or talk,” explains filmmaker John Gubba.
“Watching him grow into a much loved 18 year old who inspires so many people has been a real privilege. He’s an absolute star. The camera loves him and his raw authenticity. His pure passion for football and life itself is intoxicating.
“Since we first met in 2015 when he was a young face in my official documentary about the Manchester United Disabled Supporters Association, Alex’s story has been a real joy to capture.”
These films “go beyond highlights — they reflect real stories, genuine moments, and the joy that Alex gets from supporting Manchester United,” said Court of Protection solicitor Helena Lee.
